Infertility

New info

So I finally spoke with my doctor about my b/w results and he said everything looked normal and he's not so sure I do have PCOS, but that he would like me to try Clomid for two cycles and then we'll take it from there, part of me doesn't want to worry anymore so that I can eliminate stress.  However, I think this sounds like ok news? Input anyone?

Re: New info

  • Your body's response to Clomid can provide some good info, and of course, it can improve your pregnancy chances, so it's a common first step.  Are you going to be monitored with ultrasounds? That way they can really "see" how your ovaries respond.

Have you had other workup stuff done besides BW?  HSG etc.?

  • No so far all he had requested was a ton of blood work and the u/s I had monday.   He didn't say anything about monitoring the u/s just taking the opk tests.
  • I would get an HSG done and a SA for your DH done first before taking any clomid because no amount of clomid will help if your tubes are blocked or youf dh has bad sperm. Also, you don't have to have cysts to have pcos, you only need two of the three main symptoms to be diagnosed.

Once you do start the clomid, I would HIGHLY recommend getting monitored because clomid can cause cysts, thin lining and higher chance of multiples as well as OHSS.
