I got four 2nd degree tears giving birth to DD (totally sucks that it was the final push that did it). I've healed up pretty well though I still am a bit tender down there.
And tomorrow? Yeah, tomorrow is my yearly gyno appointment.
Just the thought of the speculum has me cringing. I'm just glad its an 8:30 am appt. At least I can get it over with first thing in the morning.
But man, I am not looking forward to tomorrow's exam at ALL.

yeah, lyte....i had my annual in august last year. so at my post partum follow up my doc mentioned it and felt i was healing up well enough that it would be ok to do the exam this month.
honestly i would've considered rescheduling and putting it off a bit longer but i'd rather just get it over and done with so i don't have to think about again for another 12 months. ya know?
that's definitely a good tip (the pain meds) so thanks! i'm definitely not in pain anymore. just a bit tender. and i'll absolutely be sure to mention that b4 she comes near me w/ any of her "doctor gadgets."
at least i know the doc is pretty quick when it comes to these exams. she's in and out as fast as she can so it should be over quick.
okay now THAT is excessive! seriously would it kill these docs to wait a while? i mean come ON!! yikes. ::crosses legs::
good luck tomorrow wubs!

They did my pap at my 6 week pp check up!
Edited to add - obviously I'm not alone!
it's pretty common. You get a pap done at your first pregnancy appt. usually, no matter when the last one was. So, when the baby is 3 months old, it's been approx. 1 year since your last one. I had my yearly appt. when Seth was 3 months old and I had a 3rd degree tear. It wasn't bad. Because of them being pap crazy when you get pregnant, I will have had 5 pap smears in less than 3 years come the end of this month. And I am pretty much the LOWEST risk you can be for cervical cancer. Fun times.
oh REALLY?? i thought your insurance won't cover a pap if you've had one in the last year and aren't in a high risk group??
