How long after m/c did you wait to start TTC again?

Hi, I'm sure this is discussed a lot, but I'm new here!  I haven't found a whole lot of good, consistent info on how long to wait.   I had an early m/c at just over 5 weeks.  My OB said she'd recommend waiting one cycle to try again.  I asked her if she'd be alarmed or concerned at all if I were to get pregnant without waiting (of course this is making the huge assumption that it would be a normal cycle and would result in pregnancy) and she said no, she wouldn't be concerned. 

So, I'm just wondering what others have been told or what you've decided and why.  Thanks so much for any insight you can provide.

I had a natural m/c at 12 weeks (lost the baby at 9 weeks) at the end of April. We started trying again last month (BFN). The doc told us we could try again right away, but I wanted to give my mind and body time to heal.

I had a natural m/c in March at 6 weeks and was told I could try again as soon as AF came back. We decided to wait until this month!

My m/c took more then 10 weeks to complete and for my HCG levels to reach zero.  After that my cycle was a little off, so we waited until after my first "normal" cycle to try again per my doctor's recommendation.  I don't think you have to wait, but for charting purposes and to better understand your cycle and more accurately pinpoint ovulation it makes sense to wait.

I m/ced at almost 6 weeks and because it was natural and my levels lowered very quickly after, my doc said I could start trying again right away. So, I bled for 6 days after the m/c and tried again every other day for 2 weeks. However, to no avail and AF showed in her usual 30 day cycle. However, it was actually nice to use that time to emotionally recuperate and spend time with God. We got pg the next cycle -- so it only took 2 cycles after m/c.

I know people say the quickest way to get over the death of a dog is to get a puppy, but I don't think it applies to babies. It was a CHILD. Allow yourself time to grieve. ((HUGS))

Had a d&c in Feb. I was told I could ttc after my first cycle, which was early April.......thought I would start ttc right way, wanted to, but dh and both kept worrying and backing out. We decided in June to start ttc. July was our first real month of ttc....so now we're hoping for Aug!

I had a natural m/c at the end of April. I was supposed to be 8w2d but was measuring 5w2d and only showing a gestational sac. My Dr. recomended we wait 3 months so we did. We are starting this month, our 2nd cycle post m/c.

I was told to wait one AF (but that it wouldn't be a big deal to get KU'd be fore then).  We had a looonnng wait for that one AF, so I tried when I ovulated prior to AF, failed, and now will be trying again this cycle.

I had an early m/c so we simply waited until AF showed up a month later.

I was told the same as you, so don't over analyze yourself and take it easy trying again. I know this is easier said then done (trust me I know). But for this cycle take it easy don't stress, you could even try to start charting if you haven't already. Good Luck

My doc recommended waiting one cycle, and that's what we did - I had a natural m/c at 6w1d. I'm glad we waited, not just for physical recovery but for emotional as well.
