Saw your cute will post below about the US Citizenship test. But for the life of me, I can not figure out why you need to know the formula for water to be a US citizen. Is US water different from water elsewhere in the world? (sarcasm) Got any theories?
Also--more inprtantly, can you school me briefly on anatomy? I just talked to my mom--my dad is in the ICU. He had a ruptured triple A followed 2 days later by a massive heart attack and subsequent quintuple bypass. They can't stabilize his blood pressure or heart rate (bypass was over 2 weeks ago) They say his liver is failing so he is not getting the vitamins/ nutrition and medicine into his system to heal and regulate his systems.
He is also suffering from malnutrition, which they mentioned in the same breath as the liver--so we are unclear if the liver is causing the malnutrition? They put him back on a vent yesterday with a feeding tube and a drug induced coma so that his body can maybe start to heal and get some strngth back.
My question--what does the liver have to do with delivering medicine to your body? I thought the liver helped rid the body of medicine (toxins) not deliver the medicine into the body?
Re: Bubbly...
I did not understand the water thing either. LOL
Sorry to hear that about your dad! The deal with the liver is that it is the site where many drugs/vitamins are metabolized in the body. When they're taken/given they aren't necessarily in an active form that can be used by the body. They are activated, so to speak, in the liver and then redistributed into circulation so that they can be used by the body. If that makes sense.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
