Dang DH!

Last weekend when DH went camping with our church, he shared a tent with the bishop of our congregation. I guess they had this great chat about TTC and how we had a m/c and I don't know many of the ladies in our congregation...yada yada yada. Now, I get a phone call from the ladies group in our church asking if they can come visit me this week. Keep in mind these are ladies that I have rarely (if ever?) talked to. Coincidence? I think not! Why did DH have to open his big mouth?!?!

I know what you mean and feel for you. It is rough when you are just barely know people and then get put in an awkward situation.

I guess...he just told me about the conversation. I definately wasn't expecting them to ask if they could come over, though. I hate the idea of people talking about me and coming to visit because they "need" to or because they were asked to.

Any chance you can get out of it?  Just avoid a couple of times, until they stop asking?  And then get to know them on your own terms.

I doubt they were told to, or need to.  Im sure as a member of their church they love you and want to support you.  No matter how active you are, or how often you talk to those specific women.  Maybe these women wanted to talk to you because they had similar situations?

Did you turn them down?  I hope if you meet with them its not too akward.

No, I decided not to turn them down. They are coming over tomorrow night. DH and I are very active in our church, but I don't know many of the ladies well because I teach a children's sunday school class. Hopefully it will just be coincidental and that they are coming to just get to know me better and not because they were asked.

Do you think they are going to just do a prayer for you when they come over? Cause what could that hurt? However, I feel for you cause idol chit chat is hard to keep up if you don't want everyone to know your buisness. GL

this is a tough one.  on the one hand, who asked them!  but on the other, I know I've reached out to other's I know have had losses and it's just to know that I'm there for them if needed.  maybe you could give a brief overview with a quick note on how you are doing now with a comment about how you are moving forward.  unless you want to continue to get their support, which of course is up to you!
