Cloth wipes material

I'm thinking of buying a few dozens of cloth wipes but there are so many different options.  Which works better with wipe warmer? and which do you prefer?

Terry Cloth?

two sided - ie flannel and bamboo?

 soft cotton flannel

Hemp/cotton natural Fleece

Re: Cloth wipes material

  • We don't use a wipes warmer, but we use baby washcloths for wipes and they are great still after 12 months of hard use.  We use the thin terry washcloths with unbound edges.  They fold into the plastic wipes bin I had from the early days with sposies just perfectly.

  • No wipes warmer here, but I made mine out of flannel & birdseye cotton (aka diaper fabric at hancock/joannes - they look at you funny if you ask for it by what I would consider the real name).  Love them.  IMO, they've held up better than some (although not all) of our baby washcloths - definitely softer.

  • Terry is good for when LO takes a ginormous poop.  Otherwise I like flannel ones b/c they're thin, so I can fit a lot in the wipes container, and they don't stay TOO wet.
  • I sewed two ply ones out of cotton flannel and terry cloth.  So far we like the dual sided nature of them.  One side to get the poo off.  The other to softly wipe DD down.  And we use my peri bottle from the hospital to moisten them so we've usually got some dry area of the wipe to dry her off.
