2nd Trimester

Bummer...

So my doctor's office called me today to let me know I have marginal placenta previa. Yippee!!!! We just had our big u/s last Thursday so they figured it out when reviewing the images. I was wondering why I was having such bad cramps but I guess this solves that mystery. I'm so incredibly scared something is going to go wrong even though I've heard most cases will fix themselves. I can definitely tell I'll be walking on eggshells until the follow-up u/s in late September. Anyone else going through this?

  • What is that? Good luck with everything!

  • Aw, thanks!!! Placenta previa is where the placenta is very low and either totally or partially covering the cervix. At this point in pregnancy it's not the end of the world but if it continues into third trimester it can lead to pre-term birth and you are pretty much stuck going with a c-section if you go into labor and it hasn't corrected itself because of the possible blood loss risks.
