Baby Kick?

Hey girls,

I have a question...I was wondering what does a kick feel like.  I think I felt something today.  I was sitting on the couch, and felt something that felt like I was on a roller coaster.  A different feeling in my stomach.  It happened a few times.  I am 24 weeks and Just wondering.

Re: Baby Kick?

  • I have no clue but it's comforting to know that someone else didn't feel them at week 14!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I am getting impatient but you are certainly in line before me to feel something--i hope you felt the baby!

  • I have had this feeling a few times myself and I have wondered if it is some type of kick. I've felt some actual kicks (they feel like tiny thumps coming from the inside), but the rollar coaster feeling is funny. I've been wondering what is was and I've thought it might be the baby.

  • I think you're feeling the baby flip over. Big Smile
  • Depends on how hard the baby is kicking! It can feel like a tapping on the inside of your uterus or it can feel like your little one is doing karate!

This. And describing it as a roller coaster is exactly how I felt the baby rolling and flipping.  A kick feels more like someone flicking you on the inside.

  • at first they feel like something flittering in your stomach, so the roller coaster could have been the baby moving. i have also felt a popping that was a kick.
  • That sounds right! For me - I think it feels like a very weak muscle spasm in your belly. The farther along I get the stronger they are and am feeling jabs and kicks now on top of the muscle spasms. It feels like something is rolling or turning in small places. Sometimes I will feel a weird pressure and I will feel my belly and there will be this huge bulge on one side of my belly. Sooooo strange! Soooo cool!

  • The feeling is hard to explain in words.  With my first pg, looking back, I think I felt movement, but at the time I didn't realize it was the baby's movement.  But believe me, as the baby gets bigger, there will be no question.  It also depends on the baby's position.  My son was head down for a long time, so he had a lot of room to kick without me feeling it.  Once he turned, it was much more obvious.
