20 week PIP & heartrate question

image

I can't believe our LO has been baking for 20 weeks already :)

So we had another ultrasound today to measure anatomy and everything (we found out the gender at 17 weeks) good news is that she is still a girl and everything looks perfect.  Sad news...I have been getting these awful migranes that do not go away no matter what.  I told my ob (who I love) at my 17 week appt about them and he ok'd me to take excedrin migrane...well that started to not work.  he told me then that if they worsen and if i have them everyday all day that there could be a bp issue and he could give me vicodin for the pain (which i have NO intention of taking due to risks for our baby).  well i have been researching bp and pre-e this past week and i have most of the signs.  well the u/s tech told us today that our lo's heartrate is much higher than what it was last time (149) and its out of the normal range (its now 169)  i guess normal is 120-160. and she took the hr more than once.  So now im freaking out!!! has anyone else had this issue?  I know stress isn't going to help right now!  and i haven't taken any excedrin or had any caffeine...so i have no idea why its so high!!

Re: 20 week PIP & heartrate question

  • Mine is high too, 160-170 she said that maybe the baby is really active (which I feel) or its just high?
  • Loading the player...
  • Our boy's heartrate was 168 and I was told that is normal.  Hmm...
  • Both our boys always ran about 165 and nobody ever said anything.  I didn't have high BP either.

  • My baby's heart rate at our last appt. was 168. The dr. said it was just because he was active. I wouldn't worry too much about that specifically. If you have BP worries, head to CVS or another drug store and check your BP. If it seems high, call a dr.

This.  Our baby's hr has been around 165-168 each time and I was told this is normal.

  • First of all, you are adorable!  And, your PIP reassures me that I do not necessarily need to be showing so much right at this point (I feel so small!)

Second, I heard that a normal hb for baby was 120-180.  Maybe you should double-check with your doc?

    Good luck!
