After waiting allll morning, the UPS guy finally showed up with my doppler. I immediately tore it open and was able to find the heartbeat pretty quickly and easily. It's around 174 bpm!
I could listen to it all day, but I don't want to bother the baby too much ![]()
Re: heard my baby's heartbeat w/ doppler too!!!!!
I should also add:
1. it does sound just like a galloping horse like everyone says (I could hear the swoosh sound of the placenta or whatever makes that noise too, but the display would show my heartbeat during that)
2. For those who have a tipped uterus - I'm assuming mine already correcting itself since the heartbeat was so easy to find and loud and clear.

We had 2 years of IF trying to conceive #2 and one loss during that time. We are currently trying for #3! had another loss the end of June
I got this one, based on mlf625's recommendation:

It's a rental and the $ could add up, but I didn't want to mess around with a questionable doppler. This one has a digital display so I checked my own heartbeat first (around 85) and then could easily see and hear when I found the baby's. I found the heartbeat in less then a minute, so I'd say it's a good doppler. HTH!

yay! such an amazing feeling!
I agree that it sounds like a galloping horse. A teeny tiny galloping horse!

That's great!
I kept telling myself I would not buy one....but I just broke down and did it anyway! It should be here in a few days....I think I'll be too scared to use it at first!
I was so NOT going to get one, but I had 5 weeks between ultrasounds (7w1d until 12w4d) and since we have started to tell more people I really wanted some reassurance that everything was ok. I'm hoping to return it after I start to feel the baby move... we'll see if I have the willpower for that!
