Hello!
I wanted to wait to post "hello" on here until I had my first u/s. My name is Stephanie and I am a 22 year old college graduate, my boyfriend is Steve, we have been together for three years. (He's having a hard time accepting the pregnancy, but I am hoping he will come around.)
This will be our first child and I am looking for any advice I can gain from all you seasoned bumpies.
So I had my first u/s, I went on friday and the hb was 120 which I was told if it's anywhere between 100-180 bpm, that's perfect! So I was excited! They told me everything looked perfect, (not ectopic like they had initially thought) and I won't get another u/s until 16 weeks!
I am not having any morning sickness, just the occassional headache. I am watching what I eat but I tell you I am consuming sharp cheddar cheese like it has legs and is going to run away. I am also craving broccoli alot.
Anyway, well just wanted to say hello! So now I won't be random when I reply to posts!
Congrats to my fellow mommy-to-be's!
Stephanie
Re: 7 weeks preggers today and 1st time posting!
Hi Stephanie! Congras and H&H 9 mos to you. I can't wait to get an u/s t make sure everything is ok, time is going by reallyyyyyyyyyyy slooooooooooow
Hi and welcome im 22 in 23 days lol Dont worry about your partner coming round it some times isnt real for them til they hold the baby. I have a 10 month old son and my boyfreind was distant all thro my pregnancy as soon as he saw him tho he melted.
I think its a good idea to watch what u eat i did with my son and hardly had anything to loose afterwards
H&H nine months
Welcome! Love the part about the cheddar cheese having legs. Cracked me up. Yeah, the menfolk take a little longer sometimes to come around and accept the pregnancy, especially if it was a surprise.
You should get a ticker so we know how far along you are. It will also help you be recognized in your posts. You can click on either of mine and it will take you to a site to make tickers.
I tried to due the ticker through the bump but it's not letting me select a marker. I'll give them a few to fix it. Right now I am trying to update my avatar. I am so excited to finally know my due date so I can do a ticker!
Steve's an amazing man, he's just apprehensive about being a daddy right now. I believe it'll work out. I am still so early in his eyes it's still like "is this real?" phase. I am sure once it's obvious and once a kick is felt, he'll be joyous.
When can you feel the baby kick? Or when can mommy's feel the flutter?
Ditto on most of that for me. I'm also 7 weeks pregnant (that is a guess, I'll explain) today and this is my first post. I'm still trying to figure out how to put pictures up and everything. I'm actually 37 (but was 36 when I got pregnant, I just have to note that!) and this pregnancy is a planned surprise pregnancy! We have been trying for 18 months with no success and six months ago we went to a specialist. Finally, after failing with some assistance the doctor recommended surgery because he suspected I had endometriosis--which I did and a cyst and an endimetrioma (sp). My tubes were not in the best shape so he recommend we go on to a more agressive (and expensive treatment). My DH and I were very disappointed because we had wanted to do this God's way (not to mention it's free). So we settled into planning and waited for my next cycle to start. Typically, surgery to remove endometriosis changes your cycle and it is delayed from between 6 to 8 weeks. I decided to take my BBT just to help predict when it was coming--something I had been doing for almost a year while TTC but quit once we went to the specialist. Well, six weeks went by after the surgery and I had continuous high temperatures. I was also traveling overseas and thought that might be the cause. Well, two days after I got back I was up early due to jet lag and decided to take a HPT just to rule it out so I could settle down and wait for my period. Imagine my TOTAL SHOCK when it lit up like a Christmas tree! The positive line came up before the control. I couldn't believe. We had our first ultrasound several days later and the doctor said I looked to be already at 6 weeks and 3 days.
I agree with everyone else--time is creeping by! Because it took us so long and I'm no spring chicken I'm extra concerned about a miscarriage and I just want to get past the 12 wk mark when the chances of miscarrying are significantly lower. Hence the reason I'm posting--have to share the fears and concerns with others who understand.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, couldn't help it, I don't have anyone else to tell my story to just yet since we are waiting to share our news!
Wondy- Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. You are very strong! Stay so! H&H 9 months!
GCavvv- Thank you, you too!
Updated: BF still having hard time accepting the pregnancy, and relentlessly asking me for abortion. (Not an option) He's worried about finances (spoken to a financial advisor we're fine) and he's worried that we're not married, also worried if he can handle the responsibility of being a dad right now. He won't stop pressuring me and I am emotionally drained.
