Hey! I was thinking about you this weekend. We've been at the end of our rope with DS and him being in his terrible twos. It's been this way since about 16 months, but this was the first weekend in a long time that I finally fet like it was getting better. He's really getting into "helping" and we find that if we just take a deep breath, try to ignore the bad and praise the good, it seems to really having a good effect. I even made it out for three whole hours to Hobby Lobby, the bank, and the thirft store on Saturday all by myself, just DD, DS and me (okay, and a bag of M&Ms towards the end there).
Anyway.....just wanted to give you some hope....your LO will eventually start turning into a little person instead of a little devil.
(We had nicknamed our DS Decepticon like the bad guys in Transformers, haha).
Re: ***Sapphyryes***
Oh, you are at least 1/2 lucky then. DS has never really been good out, pretty much ever. Since about 9 months, I could at least get him to sit in the stroller or cart with a little baggie of snacks or a cup of juice. But not he'll either spit it out or throw the food at people.....great! He does pretty good if he can sit in the big part of the cart and brings a toy along, but I always have m&ms on hand, just in case.
But yeah, DS was really bad at home too. He recently figured out how to open all the gates, so he runs down the basement in the dark which freaks me out. And he can climb, literally anything, so nothing is out of reach. Just the other day he figured out how to get on top of the fridge to get dog food to eat! He just pulls out drawers to make steps to the counter and then stacked stuff up to climb on top - all in the matter of about 2 minutes while I had to go to the bathroom! Seriously kid! The only time he sits still is if the tv is on.....it keeps him good for about 5 minutes in a row. But this weekend we just kept trying to keep him engaged in "helping" and made sure he got god regular naps (even though we do have to drive him around now - its the only way he'l go to sleep during the day) and it seems to be working.
