I was just looking around for starter packages and came across weebunz.com and they had customizable packages.
I made up a package (haven't ordered yet), but wanted to see what everyone thought. The package has 36 DSQ Chinese prefolds, 5 Thirsties Duo covers, and 2 BG OS pockets. The total price is $155. Too much? Just right? Good deal?
Besides Snappis, what else will I need to get started? Do I need more covers? I'm planning on using the prefolds for the most part.
Thanks again for your help!
Re: Starting CDing...is this good?
I order from wee bunz all the time bc they have the best prices I've seen. Plus they have excellent customer service.
I like the 'bleached' Indian pf and regular Thirsties covers. I have 24 pf and 4 covers and that lets me wash every other day. With 36 and 5 you might get an extra day in there,
Do you have any wetbags/pail liners?
I have a wet bags for outings but pillow cases in a regular trash can,
Most people get infant sized prefolds or fitted diapers for the newborn size. And the Thirsties duo's seem to get rave reviews but most people seem to dislike OS covers/diapers for the newborn stage. So you might want to look into prowraps, thirsties, or litewraps for the newborn stage. I think you can get away with like 6 covers or less. I plan to get the red edged GMD organics and try to fold them over and make them work for the nb stage. But if they dont then I have a small stash of premie sized prefolds. The BG's wont work with a newborn unless they are pretty large from what I understand.
I am very very new to all this (not even a little one yet) but I hope this helps!
I'm actually starting with my eleven month old, but we will be CDing the little one when he/she gets here as well. I plan to get some newborn covers then, too.
Oooh okay! Then yes I think that is a great deal for a startup stash for an 11 month old. The duo's are supposed to be great! Remember to tell us how they work for you! I would second the wetbag. I plan to get 2 large hanging wetbags so that I can use one while I am washing the other. I like the Planetwise wetbags.
