2nd Trimester

Graco vs. Chicco

I'm trying to make my final decision on the infant car seat and stroller.  Does any one have any recommendation on one brand over the other and why you think that?  I'm looking at the Graco SnugRide 32 or the Chicco KeyFit 30.  I think that I'm going to have a long baby, I'm 6'0" and DH is 6'2" so that is why I would rather just get the bigger one now...

HELP!

Re: Graco vs. Chicco

  • I've always read better reviews of Chicco products over Graco.

We haven't decided if we're doing an infant carrier or not, and we registered for a Jeep stroller, so I can't help you with personal experience, just what I've read.

  • DH and I just decided between the two last night. Chicco has a higher rating with consumer reports for ease of use and fit to the car than Graco. I've heard very good things about both, but we decided on the Chicco because we felt it was the safer option for our little boy.
  • DS hated his Graco SnugRide and I mean HATED.  So I would go with the Chicco.
  • I really wanted to go with the chicco because I felt it was safer from what I have read.

The fact that I really liked the way that the Trevi stroller closed up was just icing on the cake for me.

Can't help you as far as length thing. Sorry!

  • Check CarSeatData.org to see which fits best in your vehicle.

We have the Chicco KeyFit30 and so far, we love it  :)  It's been wonderful to install and it seems like adjustments will very easy.  The sun shade is a little on the small side, but the KeyFit works great in both our cars and with our BOB stroller.

  • As others have mentioned, Chicco has the best safety ratings. The only drawback I've heard is they don't fit in the front of most shopping carts. I'll deal with that for safety. Smile

  • I agree with everyone.  I looked it up on ConsumerReports.com and the Chicco was the overall best bet, so I popped it on my registry.

  • we have the chicco and i have no complaints! we love everything about it, and still use the stroller for ds-14 months later :)
  • We registered for the Chicco KeyFit 30 because it had a ton of great reviews.
  • we are going with the chicco & Im praying itll fit in my car. Baby bargains rated graco & chicco about the same (actually i think they preferred the graco). Consumer Reports rated both of them high, but chicco slightly higher under safety ratings. Particularly the safety rating for side impact crashes. Because I have a mustang, I can not put the seat in the middle, but it has to go behind the passenger seat, so I was particularly concerned with side impact protection. Thats why Im goin with the chicco.
  • I have a Graco from dd, but I'm a peds home care nurse and have had the opportunity to use the Chicco Keyfit a lot, and LOVE it. I'm getting a Chicco for this baby even though my Graco is still in perfect condition.
