Pennsylvania Babies

anyone been through this?

Hey Ladies!

Just wanted to ask if anyone can tell me if BH are a hardening of the entire uterus?  Also, in addition, today had MAJOR cramping (like menstrual) in very low abdomen. almost feels (this is wierd, i know but) feels like baby is burrowing down and hurts really, really bad, but not getting any worse or closer together. Baby is moving like crazy as usual, but have not noticed  baby dropping, any plug or show. I am 39 weeks today.  can anyone tell me what is going on? any info would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks girls!

Re: anyone been through this?

  • How many (contractions) are you having? BH can be felt in the entire uterus, but they aren't usually painful. They usually don't last too long and are not consistent. If you are getting them more than 6/hr I think I would call the dr. With true labor, you will probably feel the contraction starting at the top of your uterus and then move down (and into your back) and they may become painful. I don't know that everyone passes their mucus plug- and even if you do, it could be a while before the baby comes. Not sure how much that helps, but GL!
  • I'm not much help. I never had BH and I was induced so my experience was a little different, but I just wanted to say good luck! Definitely sounds like you're getting close!

  • This is how my labor began with DD2, but it wasn't painful just uncomfortable.  DD2 never dropped and I didn't have any other signs of labor.  I just got uncomfortable menstrual like cramps (not timeable) and then contractions started 6 minutes apart.  I never experienced BH with either of my girls so I'm not sure what they feel like.

Good luck and call your doctor if your in pain!

  • Similar to rsweetheart, I had menstrual like cramps during the day before and the day I went into labor - sporadic, but noticeable.  I felt like something was coming.  Then at 6 pm I lost my mucous plug and contractions became regular and strong (3-4 min). Sometimes it would skip one and go 6-8 min, after which I'd have a stronger one.

However, I would not call those menstural sort of cramping something that "hurt really, really bad."  If anything hurts that much, I would time it.

  • I'm feeling the same way today, kind of. ?I'm pretty crampy like i have to go number 2 or like i have my period. ?Its been a pretty uncomfortable day so far today, and I woke up a few times last night uncomfortable because my stomach was really tight. ?good luck!
