If his dog costume fits him still(which it should, it goes up to 33 lbs and was a little big on him last year) he is going to be a dog again for Halloween. Why waste money on a new costume?

We have a hand me down costume for DD2 that DD1 and their cousin wore. I need to find a good one for DD1 though since her b-day party will be at the pumpkin patch.
DS didn't even have a costume for his 1st Halloween. I couldn't see getting him one when he was so little. Of course a couple of days before Halloween I was totally regretting it. Oh well, I have learned that I am getting him something super cute this year.
I cheaped out last year and just used the 3 Halloween onesies I was given to take pictures in and what not. This year I'll have to buy her one since if I don't my mom will without my permission or input and lord knows what she'd pick out.

I take the kids to the consignment shop and let them pick anything they want. The most expensive costume there is $7.99. I don't see the point in spending oodles on something they will wear for an hour or two.
I don't think DD even knows that she has the option to be whatever she wants. She is very happy with her choices at the consignment shop.
I bought a mouse costume for $1.95 at Old Navy back in Dec. I don't think I'm going to use it because I got him a Storm Trooper one for Dragon Con. I love Halloween. I may also get him a pirate costume.
Re: am I going to be the only Halloween cheapskate?
We had a hand-me down infant costume from my sister, so no, it won't fit her this year. She was a pea in a pod, and it was a bunting costume.
I'll probably buy her a costume and just save it for other babies or for friends/family members that are having babies.
Joseph's costume last year was a 3T. He looked like an orange Druid. This year it should be spot on, and he'll be a perfect pumpkin.
