Ugh. So there are way too many cooks in the kitchen for my shower (literally.)
I really don't want to come off ungrateful but I'm having a real hard time with this.
DH's mom is supposed to be throwing the shower, I told her to do whatever she wants and if she needs help to let me know. She and DH's dad are divorced, and appparently DH's step-mom wants to help too. When DH's mom asked what I wanted regarding the food, I told her anything you want... but I REALLY love fried chicken. It's cheap, it's easy, and there is little room for error. She mentions to DH's new wife that I want fried chicken and step-mom takes it as just chicken. DH's dad says, "well I can buy all the chicken and BBQ it onsite (park)."
Now, here is where I turn into psycho pregnant chick. DH is having a hard time standing up to his dad and telling him that we don't want him to BBQ chicken for 70 people. The food will be cold by the time he is done, and cold BBQ chicken is sucktastic. Not to mention he overcooks EVERYTHING he makes (they are "well done steak people".)
Am I justified in being upset? I'm no diva, I swear. I just want fried chicken, is that so much to ask?

I'm in no way concerned about myself. I want to make sure my guests are treated to a decent meal. Ya know?
