Ikea cribs

Does anyone use any of the cribs from Ikea?  They are so affordable, it'd be easier to purchase two at a time, and I love the other furniture I have from there.  They just look so low-to-the-ground... like everything else Ikea has.  I was just wondering if anyone has one (or more).  I'm sure they are safe and everything, but how convenient are they?  Will they look weird in a nursery with vaulted ceilings since they are so short?!

I went to IKEA after seein those Stokke mini-cribs to see if they had anything comprable.  I really wasn't impressed by what I saw. They just didn't look like they'd hold up. Maybe they have more options online.

I have the Mammut cribs (pink & blue) and love them!  They are made really well.  Much more solid than anything I saw while shopping.  That being said I didn't really spend too much time lopking at the regular cribs.  But, for those prices can you really go wrong?  I think they would last 3 years, easyily.

I didn't like them because they're smaller (so you have to buy the mattress and sheets there). But I did buy cribs at JCPenney that I love for a comparable cost - perhaps you can check there also. (I paid $900 for 2 cribs and 2 dressers, after tax).

We have Ikea cribs (Leksvik) and a regular crib mattress fits in it.  We didn't need to buy anything special for it.  As far as looking weird in a room with vaulted ceilings, what would you do if you were just putting a regular bed in there?  Anyway, our cribs are fine, have been using them for a year now and they are very sturdy and we've had no issues with them.

We have the Gulliver cribs.  I really like them. They have held up really well. We did not have to get a special mattress.  We bought the Colgate mattress recommended in Baby Bargains and it fits perfectly.

They are low to the ground but I'm petite so that doesn't bother me. If you are really tall that might be a problem.  The one thing that was kind of a downer was that I had to take the bed skirt off when it was time to drop the crib to the lowest setting.  I really like those bed skirts;)

I haven't seen the cribs in person, but they just look so SHORT!  Haha.  I know Ikea's beds are short, because we thought about getting one.  I don't know, it'll probably be fine with the high ceilings.  We don't have any beds in our spare rooms as of right now.  One room is pretty much empty and the other one is our office with a tall desk system.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

this is incorrect. Their cribs are standard size re: mattress and sheets - they are just a little lower to the ground - which is good b/c they do not have drop sides (which are considered unsafe anyway) so it's easier for shorter women to reach into the crib.

We have the leksvik cribs and love them!  We actually had to find a larger standard mattress - b/c even standard mattresses can vary by about an inch - and you want to make sure it's snug- so no matter what crib you get anywhere- look to see what size mattress it requires.

We got the Safety 1st mattress from Walmart- it's great - VERY firm and only $40 and fits perfectly.

We just bought the Gulliver cribs (2 of them) last Friday from Ikea.  They are still in the box since our babies won't be here til December.  As pp had said they fit a normal crib matress, altough we haven't gotten one yet and they were the most reasonable priced cribs I could find, especially with buying two.  We got them in white and they were $99 each.  Plus they convert to toddler beds and so we won't have to get new beds for a while.  My only issue was waiting for them to come in since they were out of stock forever and I wasn't going to pay $250 to ship them.  But they cam in last week and we got them.

We have the Gulliver cribs and I love them!  They are very basic and sturdy and you can't beat the price.  They use a standard cib mattress...we have Colgate foam ones too.  I also like that they convert to a toddler bed, but nothing else (no double bed).  No clue about looking weird because my nursey is all about function, not looks ;-)

We have Ikea Hermelin cribs (the blue ones) I think they're really cute and they work perfectly in our nursery since it's small  https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60116007  They take standard size mattresses and sheets.  Yes, they're short, but it's not an issue for me.  I like them.

We have Ikea cribs, and I love them.  They have stood up to my jumping toddlers, and it seems like all the other cribs we considered have been recalled, but these ones are still rated at the top for safety.  I'm going to be buying a third Ikea crib this weekend for this next baby.

We didn't end up with Ikea cribs because FIL bought them and he didn't want to drive all the way to Massachusetts from Maine when he could order cribs from Target and get them shipped to us... but our bed is from Ikea and so is one of our bookcases, our desk and some other furniture pieces we own and I love all of them!  Our bed is a little low but I like it that way, especially since our old bed was way too high.  Everything has held up really well and we have been happy with it.

We also have the Gulliver cribs in white, and we are very happy with them. ?They're sturdy, look modern/plain (which is what I wanted), and you can't beat the price. ?Regular crib mattresses fit in them just fine. ?And they convert into toddler beds down the road. ?
