It think April is the best. It isn't too close to Christmas, you don't have to be pregnant during the summer, the temp is perfect for an outdoor birthday party, and they aren't close to the school age cutoff.
I was very happy for my December baby - my maternity leave corresponded to DH's slowest time at work, so he was able to take off 4 weeks to be with me. We planned it that way, and happily it worked out.
But as far as a birthday - I agree it is too close to Christmas (but as a January baby, I think a birthday before Christmas is much better than after. No one wants to celebrate a birthday in the first few weeks after Christmas!)
If I could choose next time, I think I would choose February or March. That way I wouldn't be huge and PG during the hot summer months.
April would be good, but half of my Mom's family has b'days in April so it's a crazy month already and I'd like to avoid adding another one! I'd like to avoid having a newborn when it's cold outside and not during the yucky cold & flu season either.
I have an April baby, But it is SO rainy in April- we cant do any outdoor birthday parties because who knows what weather will be like. May would have been better.
We wanted to have the next baby be a Fall baby. I REALLY wanted October! We got surprised , and baby number 2 was due february. Since we lost baby #2, we are not choosey and will take what we can get. Although Ideally I want my october baby.

May, I had Robbie in May and it was the best. I was on leave from work till September and the weather here in WA is great. And B-days are warm but not too hot.

I think that really depends on the person & the area that they live in. I have an August baby & a May baby. I hated being pregnant during the summer with my August baby & she'll probably start school on or around her birthday which is a bummer but I loved where her 3 months & 6 months hit. I just had a May baby & although I enjoyed the weather more when I was pregnant I didn't enjoy it after I had him. I thought I'd be outside all of the time after he was born but with it being so hot I was too worried to take a newborn out in the heat. I think the next baby we'll have we'll try to March.
April or May. I wouldn't be huge pregnant in the summer and I would get the summer off from work for maternity leave (and be able to spend it outside).
3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
When we first started discussing kids, the one month I wanted to avoid was December. Well, I had a December baby, and I LOVE it! I love having a winter baby, and her birthday being 2 weeks before Christmas really isn't that bad, we do & always will be sure to separate the 2.
I loved having a May baby! It felt like back in school with summers off! (Except with a nursing newborn and sleep deprivation, and a maternity swimsuit for my post baby body) but otherwise almost exactly the same-ha ha!
I didn't plan DS to be in a certain month. He was due in March which I thought was PERFECT! The weather here is nice and it's a good time of year. However, he was born in February. It's not bad but just being in New Orleans it will always be around Mardi Gras. Which can be a good OR bad thing depending on how you look at it.
If I could choose, I would choose April. I really don't want to be due anywhere from June-October. My reasoning is HURRICANES! I was on bed rest for DS and the thought of having to evacuate being pregnant and/or on bed rest scares the crap out of me!

We had DS in June. We were shooting for May but I ended up getting appendicitis!!! So we got pg a month later and June was just fine. I'm hoping for a Sept 2010 baby even Oct would be nice.
I think next time, I would like to have a baby in march or April. I
I am a teacher so April or may would be better for work but I want maternity clothes and baby clothes from my December baby to work still.
I think it totally depends on where you live! I would HATE to be pregnant during the summer here! It's not fun to put a newborn baby in a car that is 130 degrees. I wouldn't want to have a baby and end up snowed in either, so I think it depends on the climate. : )
I have one in Mach, August, and July. I hate that I have two birthday so close together, but the kids have 15 years different in ages so it is really not the same.

Both my kids were born in February & I think that is the best month. You aren't huge in the summer, fall & winter maternity clothes are cuter, you'll have a decent sized belly (but not uncomfortable) for all the holiday pictures, you have a good excuse to eat that extra Christmas cookie, and you have enough time to safely loose the baby weight before summer.
My girls are June and August. I like these months because you celebrate their bdays in the summer and I think you have so many more options for things to do when there isn't snow on the ground.

I liked that DS was born in October. I never minded being pregnant in the summer though so that probably plays into it a bit.
I liked it because DS was small enough the first winter that he didn't care if he went anywhere (which he didn't), by the time summer came DS was crawling so it was awesome to have him outside and mobile and I like that his birthday is during the school year so when he gets old enough he'll be able to have school friends at parties.

Ditto this. Having DD in April was fantastic. Except here, it's still too cold in April to be outside a lot. So, I'd say April, May or June would be ideal. Spring is perfect for having babies!
I like having a September baby! (Although she was supposed to be an October baby!) It was kind of bad being HUGE through the hottest part of the year, but the timing works out for her (ie school, holidays, etc).
April through July. I have 2 July babies and that works well -- half-way to Christmas, no question re school cut-off ages and the babies were old enough when cold and flu season came around. I think I would prefer a little earlier like April or May next time (if we do have #3) because I would prefer not to have to deal with another birthday in July, wouldn't have to worry about giving birth in the winter and sending a small baby off to daycare during the height of cold and flu season and it's far enough away from Christmas so they aren't on toy overload.
Spring for me. I have a May baby and now I will have an April. It is defiantly the best time for me since I am a teacher so I miss the last few weeks of school and then have the entire summer before the baby has to start daycare. I have been very lucky!
