2nd Trimester

Holy Hip pain & my sis is cute!

I have been waking up in the morning with sore hips-they feel like they've been stretched really hard or something.  This morning around 3 the pain actually woke me up!  Anyone else have this and any suggestions on dealing with it?

And on a separate note-my sister who has been known to call me throughout this pregnancy and ask "are you fat yet" (she's such a twit sometimes) just texted me to ask what colors the room will be because she is going to crochet a blanket for Sean!  AWWW guess she's ok deep down.

  • Yes I wake up with sore hips every morning..I think it is from sleeping on my sides all night long, and all my body weight on them.

  • I also wake up from sore hips and then can't fall back to sleep.  I purchased one of the body pillows from BRU and that was been working sometimes.  Keeps my hips from hurting but I still wake up.  My doctor recommended sleeping in a recliner.  Fun!

This. I switch sides throughout the night, which helps some . . .

  • I get crazy hip pain, but not when I sleep - it's always after hiking (especially hills).  Feels like my hips are falling out of their joints, and it's so painful after a while of hiking that I spend the rest of the day limping!
Heat helps me - hot showers or baths feel great.  No other pain relief suggestions though.

  • Are you sleeping w/ a pillow between your legs? That helps me. Of course rolling over takes more effort, but at least I'm not hurting.

I'm still sleeping on my stomache-that's what doesn't make sense about it.  If I was on my side I would expect it but I don't on my stomache ya know....Weird.  If it persists I will mention it to my doc next apt in a few weeks.

    Thanks!
