Leaky Heart / High risk appt. follow up

The appointment with the high risk pregnancy doctor went well yesterday.  He said there should be no problems, if the leak in my heart is found to actually not exist.  If the leak is confirmed (I will know more next week) he said I will need to be put on antibiotics for the entire pregnancy and will need to be very closely monitored as other issues can arise.

So, needless  to say, I'm hoping this "leak" that was found isn't really there!

In the meantime, at 22 weeks, I will be getting a fetal EKG as the chances of my baby having a heart defect are about 5% greater than if I had not had a defect.

But all in all, he thinks there should be no problems!  Talk about a relief!

It's cool that you will have careful monitoring. That will also ease your stress.

I had open heart surgery years ago and go for check ups every 4-5 years or so...
