What do you think of Obama's choice of beer for the "Beer Summit" last night? Some people are saying that he should have chosen an American beer (Bud is now owned by a German company). And that Blue Moon is a "republican" owned company.

IMO this is ridiculous. They chose what they like to drink. Am I un-American because I like vodka? (not during pregnancy, of course?).

(Although I personally think they should have been drinking out of bottles, and not beer mugs )

They could have drank dog p!ss for all I care about the topic...    DH was like, "I heard the news is betting 2-to-1 that they will drink Sam Adams because it's a Boston beer!!!"  I just rolled my eyes and said, "Don't you have a nursery to start working on or something?" lol

Just another reason why I HATE politics -- everything is overanalyzed.  Who cares what he was drinking?

No offense to you, but I personally don't give a crap.  I cannot believe that the news has had this as a top story for the last week.  Who cares who the President has a beer with.  The racial part of the story is old news, and this just dragged it out even longer.

I agree with the "I don't give a crap" sentiment BUT I live near a large Bud light/Budweiser plant and the people that work there are AMERICAN! Even if it is German-owned. And, that just happened last year. Give me a break. Can the people who run the news stations find something more important to talk about like the war maybe?

I can't believe Obama drank a Bud.  I thought he would have better taste than that.

As for this being a silly news story, aren't most of the stories on the news filled with extraneous information?  If I have to hear one more story about Michael Jackson's doctor/chef/personal assistant or Farrah Fawcett's last days, I may scream.  At least this particular unnecessary news story was a change from the norm.
