Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Let's play "You know you're over being a new mom when..."

I'll start:

You have to be reminded that it's your child's x-month birthday by emails from companies that sell baby products:  "Your child is 16 months old!"

Oh wow...that's right! LOL

  • When DC's baby book has been sitting in their room, not updated in about 8 months.

When you go from taking 150 photos a day of them sleeping when they're 8 weeks old to about 10 a week of them actually doing things. You're too busy chasing them to take pictures!

  • When you go on vacation for a long weekend and only bring one bag of stuff for your entire family.
  • I can relate to all of these!

I also find myself saying "oh, you're fine" when she falls down/bumps something and starts fussing a little.  (of course I don't do this if she's really crying!)

  • When I am ok with her eating food off the floor that she dropped during her meal. Confused Please tell me I'm not the only one!

not the only one ; )

  • When you don't go crazy spending time trying to find just the cutest little outfit to put your DC in to run to go out for the day with the matching onesie, socks, hat, blah, blah, blah. Instead you're happy if you can find something clean that fits and bonus if it matches.
  • Totally agree Audrey!  My sister has a four month old and she is still in the planning on which outfit her DD will wear.  Most days it is a challenge just to get my DD dressed!  It was fun to dress her up though.
  • mine is similar to the clothes posts but mine is you take your child out in the am in their PJs (I have to take my oldest to camp/school etc) and don't change them all day until you put them in the new PJs after their bath :)

    (not everyday but some days...)

  • Man, I still agonize over  his outfits (we're going to the beach tomorrow and all his clothes are pretty fish/ocean/octopus/shark themed.)

And we have a million bags for all our stuff.

But he does eat stuff off the floor, he does fall down so much I barely blink and a million other things I can't remember right now.

  • When you don't spend 20 minutes doing her hair every day because she is just going to pull the clip out and rub cracker in her hair anyway. Just run a comb through it and go. I make it look nice for events and pictures otherwise she runs around the house with a messy head. Straight on top curly in the back.

LMAO.  Maybe 10 a month?  I'm bad.  These are hilarious, and all true for me!  Well, except for going out in PJs...probably because "PJ's" are now the onesies that aren't nice enough to wear out instead of the cute little printed/embroidered suits with pretty designs. Wink
