I'm really liking this post today:
https://simplemom.net/the-great-myth/
I know it's from simplemom, but I think it's entirely applicable to everyone's busy lives! I know I totally get feeling like everyone else in the world has everything all together and a perfect, organized life while I stand in the middle of my disaster of a house and wonder how I'm going to get to everything in a day!
The Poll: What do you not do daily to be able to have the time to do the things that you do want to do?
Re: A Poll: What do you not do?
i push everything aside...i have no time. this month we've been away every weekend which means i get nothing done at home. the whole house needs to be cleaned. kg's room needs to be organized, my room needs to be organized....
the list is miles long. i come home from work....attempt a shower, get everything ready for kade the next day at school, do diapers if they need to be done, attempt to put something together for dinner, spend time with the fam and then it's bedtime for ds, dd, and us.
proper cleaning but I normally manage to have the house reasonably tidy.
exercise was never an issue for me, i just don't do it which is horrible. i used to walk everywhere when we were in London and now I don't and I've noticed I'm horridly out of shape now so I have to work on that which I doubt I will do, sadly.
oh and reading, i have been sacrificing reading lately for other things.
I can't get to the blog to see the list, but the number one thing that goes on the back burner is ME! I do everything for everyone else, and I always come last, which means I don't get to it b/c who ever gets throug their to-do list.
With the help of DH and my mom, our house stays pretty clean. We're neat freaks though. I meal plan and have a system down pretty good now so that we eat a healthy dinner at home 99.9% of the time, we have our finances together and I make sure I spend time with DH and also time just playing with DD and DS. But I never seem to make it to me. I manage to get a shower, each day, by about 11:30 and that's about it. Most of the time I throw my hair in a ponytail (yeah, looks real professional at work!) and throw some clothes on (most of which have stains or are about 2 sizes two big and I look like a total frump!). And the little "me" time I do have, I seem to spend on the internet looking to buy stuff to make myself feel better, hahaha!
I felt the same way though when we had DS. By about 6 months, I was able to get back some me time and it just increased as he got older. And I am taking two sewing classes in the next two weeks. DH is making me so I don't go insane! He's such a good hubby....
11 months
Clean the bathroom and cook dinner. I absolutely love to cook, and if I can't do it "right" I tend to not do it at all. I love to prepare healthy, well-balanced meals and it just pisses me off if I have to make something "simple".
And my bathroom is TEENY so its just really hard to keep tidy.
