2nd Trimester

orgasm and contraction

ok, so ladies ... have any of you experienced a contraction after you've had an orgasm? it just happened to me & it was the SCARIEST thing i think i've ever seen!!!! EVER!!!

my DH has been away for 6 wks, so after my nap i decided to "help myself out" so to speak. the last time i did it was probably 4 wks ago and did not have this experience. within seconds of having the "O", my stomach went flat except in the center where this pointy softball sized protrusion looked like it was going to bust out from my belly. i am not kidding you, it was huge & pointy and f*cking scary! i called my Dr. right away & he said that i most likely had a contraction and the little guy balled up! as long as there was no bleeding i'd be ok. tell you what, i'm NEVER going to do that again!!!!?

  • I don't mean to laugh but I could just imagine myself on the phone with my OB trying to explain the situation. Embarrassed

I'm glad you called your doctor and got your reassurance, though. As to your question...I, personally, haven't had it happen. However, I've read on here quite a few posts about the subject. I hear it's normal.

  • I have had horrible cramping after an orgasm. I spoke with my doctor about it at my last appointment and she said it was totally normal and wouldn't hurt the baby or start labor. When you have an orgasm your muscles contract, hence your uterus also contracts.

  • Very normal but scary nonetheless.   Masturbation orgasm are usually stronger than orgasms during vaginal/anal intercourse so keep that in mind. My DH and I had a sex fest the other day (10 orgasms in a day) when DS was away at Grandparents house and I did notice that baby didn't move as much but nothing too bad.  I am sure they get the benefits of all the endorphin rush too.

  • With my first it happened every single time I had an orgasm.  With this pregnancy it's only happened once.  It's very uncomfortable though and can be a little scary.  Don't stop having orgasm's just because of that. It's normal, don't deprive yourself unless the doctor tells you to.
