Since BOF brought it up.
Ours is reversed.
Is anyone else always stuck in a situation like that?
We go to my IL's in 2 weeks. After 22 hours of driving (because DH refuses to fly) we will be stuck miles away from anyone/anywhere. They also only have 1 bathroom. It is down stairs (all the bedrooms are upstairs).
Although the room itself is huge at 15"x 17". It does not have a shower. They have a claw foot bath tub and they recently added a hand held shower thing. It is also the dressing room (they have an old farm home.)
While they went through the trouble of adding a new wing to the house for family visits, they decided that all the extra money go into craftsmanship and so hired some Amish family to do their addition (3 country boys. they did a phenomenal job). They figured (I should say FIL figured) the kids can use a "chamber pot" if need be.
I would also like to add that their stairs are deadly! They have 2 large staircases.
sweet baby jesus help me. I thought we lived in the country... they live in the country, no cable, tv or computer.
Re: Visiting relatives question.
this is the stuff of nightmares...
WTF?
You just described my parents house - minus the chamber pot.
hard wood stairs w/ socks on=death for my tailbone
haaaaaaaaaa.. yes. Well they have a pretty good garden and MIL is really big into the community activities thing as well as her 4+ days a week of going to town for her yoga/Pilate's/curves thingies.
they live on like 100+ acres of wilderness. Which would be great for redneck things.
It is beautiful but I can see why DH and BIL wanted to leave that area ASAP!
