Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Recommend your inexpensive baby monitor please

I'd like to get another monitor for my parents' house for the days that DS is going to be there, but don't want to spend a fortune.  I like ours (Sony), but it's about $50.  I saw a Safety First Crystal Clear Monitor in WalMart today for $17.50, which would be the perfect price, but I'm wondering if it works well enough.  It'll mostly be used between their upstairs and downstairs, but I'm sure my mom might occasionally want to bring it outside with her on their deck or in the basement.

Re: Recommend your inexpensive baby monitor please

  • We bought whatever ever the cheapest one at Target is.  Works fine for our needs.  We only use it a few hours on the weekend when she is napping.  It sometimes has static and picks up neighbor's phone conversations, but it has 2 channels and I just switch to the other.  I think it was like $12, maybe.  I would have spent more, but like I said, we only use it during naps and during the week she is at the sitters.

  • I have a Graco monitor and it was only $25-30.  I think it might be called the Ultra Clear?
