Parenting after a Loss

Movement Monitor went off last night

So for the first time since the babies were born the movement monitor went off and scared dh & I half to death we both went running in the nursery.  Kate had curled herself up in the top corner of her crib and I guess wasn't on the sensor bc she was sound asleep that is until I snatched her up to make sure she was breathing.

Dh is going to add the other part of the monitor tonight to prevent that from happening again.  9 months and that was the 1st false alarm, not too bad.

  • That would be scary! I'm glad it was a false alarm!!!

  • Yikes!  That's scary!
  • Scary! I am glad everyone is fine!
  • Alex's monitor went off during one of his naps on Tuesday.  It scared the crap out of me.  He was actually laying right in the middle of the crib so I'm not sure if he actually stopped breathing or if it was a false alarm.  I picked him up and he was ok and went right back to sleep.  He starts daycare next week and I think I am going to go buy another monitor to use there because it scared me so bad.

What other part of the monitor are you going to add?  Ours only came with one pad.

  • That is scary. We've actually had quite a few false alarms.. The first few we got were REALLY scary!

  • Jocelyn's went off in the middle of the night a month or so ago. She had done the same thing as Kate, scooted her self into the corner and was sleeping peacefully.

We put the second pad in that day and haven't had any alarms yet.

Isn't it just the scariest thing ever? I couldn't get back to sleep for at least an hour.

  • How scary!  Were you able to go back to sleep?  I think I would be wide awake after that!
  • So scary, I'm glad everything was fine!
  • HOly scary!  So glad it was a false alarm.
  • Very scary!!  What other part are you going to add?  We have the AngelCare Monitor... LOOOOVE it, and such peace of mind...
  • Ems did that a few weeks ago.  It is scary but when it's over, you have to look at the face your baby gives you when you wake them up - it's like "what are you thinking, waking me up at this ungodly hour!".
