Northern MI ladies........

We want to take a trip and head up north this fall.  We know we want to be in Mackinac for a couple days but have thoughts of stopping at places like Traverse City, Petosky, Boyne (not all, just some ideas).  We'd like to go when the leaves are changing; when is a good time to go?

I think mid-sept is good...you take a chance with rain, but its usally nice weather and the leaves should be changing nicely

We went to mackinac a couple years ago at that time and it did rain one day, but the rest of the time was really nice sweatshirt weather and everything was really pretty

In my experiance Traverse City is the prettiest around the second week of October. We used to go every year...some years we wouldn't get there until our actual annversary (oct. 23) and the leaves would be a little past peak so I'd say a little before that and you'll be in love!! i love fall in michigan!!!
