GMs last only 1 hour tops?

I have gotten a few second hand GMs b/c everyone on here raves about them. We've tried each of them and seem to be only gettong an hour out of them before she wets through. Is this right? Can I do anything to them to increase their absorbancy? DD is only 3 months right now. If she is wetting them through in an hour now, it'll only get worse as she gets older, right?

Re: GMs last only 1 hour tops?

  • Unless DD has a rash, she wears them with covers for 2-3 hours and they are fine. Coverless, its more like an hour or so.

  • Actually, it will probably get better as she gets older because, although she'll pee more in volume, she'll pee less often.  So, you'll be able to go longer in a diap as there's more time between pees.  If that makes sense.

  • I've tried many fitteds, on both DD and DS and I will admit that GMs have been the best. BUT none of them will last more than an hour (more like half hour probably) without a cover. With a cover, they'll still get wet on the outside, but the cover holds it in. After two-three hours with it, it will be wet, but not leaking like other fitteds. So even though it's wet, it's still absorbant.....if that makes sense.

  • As soon as DS pees, I can feel the moisture on the outside.

If we are not at home, they will absorb enough for several pees, so I can go 2-3 hours without a leak.  However when we are home I check him every hour and change him as soon as he is wet.

  • Your baby is still pretty little so I bet she is wetting a lot.  When K was that age it didn't matter what diaper she was in...I needed to change her all the time.

Now that she is older a GM lasts for hours.  Coverless even.  Rarely is she a pee monster anymore.

    That does make sense. Thanks!
