another teething post...

what do you do about teething if you're not nursing anymore (assuming you used to nurse)? Nursing seems to be the ONLY thing that soothes DD when she is in hard core teething hell. I had her down to 3 sessions per day and today she nursed 3 times before lunch alone! I lost track after the 5th or 6th time she nursed.

I am thinking there's no way I can wean her until she has a full set of teeth...

Re: another teething post...

  • so, yeah, we are still nursing.  but, we are pretty set at 2-3 times a day, and that doesn't really change during teething.  he likes to eat a lot of cold watermelon (I don't really like to use orajel, but this seems to numb his teeth).  I mean, a LOT of cold watermelon.  And I let him have a paci if he wants it during the day (normally only at night or in the car).  I think we just snuggle more reading books and stuff like that, but not nursing.

I'm probably not weaning until after DS has a full set of teeth, but he already has 16.  I'm thinking he'll have all of his teeth by 2, and I'm okay nursing until then if he wants to.

I hope your LO feels better soon, and that you can figure out a way to comfort without nursing!

Mommy to Seth (4) and Catherine Anne (13 mo.) Excited to welcome a third child in March of 2013!
