Today I was 75% effaced...no dilation.
OB said he sees no reason I won't go until 38 (or 39 weeks)!! Then this evening, the hospital coordinator called from his office and my c-section is scheduled for August 20 (38w2d). Teachers in my district are supposed to return to work on August 17...and he even said (for now) I could go since it's just meetings and I can sit in the cafeteria with my feet up all day - which would save days!
HOLY CRAP. He said again that I was "born to carry twins" which we both find odd considering my frame!
I know their status could change at any time, but I was pretty much shocked to hear this considering all the BH I've been having (which apparently do nothing to my cervix).
And, not surprisingly, I have mixed feelings. I totally know that this is great for the babies and they are tucked in there safe and sound growing nice and ready...but at the same time I am so flipping uncomfortable and tired. This is really turning out to be the longest hottest summer ever.
Re: EEK! News from OB appointment today...
Mine were born on the 23rd at 37w6d. I hear you on the long summer. That is so awesome that you have been able to carry them so long.
I worked the workdays before school started. My room was ready with the help from a few other teachers (got it ready in July). I worked mon-fri (workdays) and water broke Saturday morning. The following monday was the first day of school and my induction date.
Good luck, hope everything goes well for you. If you have them on your scheduled date, you will have them on my anniversary

That is wonderful news!
I know how ready you are to have them but keep those babies cooking. Mine were born at 37 due to blood pressure issues otherwise I probably would have gone to my scheduled c-section date. My babies had no issues and spent no NICU time born at 37 weeks.
I remember being miserable being pregnant in the summer, enjoy the AC and stay in bed, enjoy it while you can.
