Multiples

Have you joined the club?

So, I've become aware of these multiples clubs that are local. More importantly, I've learned that if you join, you get early access to their sales (2 clubs are having sales in the next 2 months). Have you joined your local MoM clubs? Is it worth it?

Re: Have you joined the club?

  • Mine lets pregnant MoMs join for free.  I went to a meeting and the ladies were great.  We have sales and they also have a website that is a board like this, and it has a classified section.  I've bought a few things at a great price!

  • i joined. it's only $30 a year- i figured that wasn't much to be kept in the loop about sales and events.  I will probably go to some events with the twins - like play dates at the park, etc - but i don't think i'll get too involved since i'm already involved in a few other groups.

  • Since I'm in the "expecting" stage, I signed up for a free 90-day trial to get a feel for my local chapter.  If I choose to join, it's $45 per year.  So far it seems pretty organized, but I'm looking forward to attending a meeting to see how I feel about it.

  • I plan to join the one in my area.  It's $25/year and I figure it's worth it.  They have a big/little sister program for expecting moms and moms with newborns so I think that could be fun.

I'm generally not much of a "joiner" either...but in this situation I'm thinking DH and I need all the help and experience and support we can get!

  • I also joined. It is great to get into the sales early. I have only made it to one meeting so far, but they had a great speaker and it was really informative. My club also has really active Internet boards, which are very helpful.

  • I joined my local MoM group but haven't decided how involved I will be.  Alot of the mom's are SAH, so they do things during the day. Im hoping to meet some working moms and plan outings with them.  For me, the one biggest benefit of joining was early bird to their sale, which I have heard is amazing. I cant wait to see if I can get a few deals.

  • I joined in December but haven't made it to any meetings yet! :( We live NE of Columbia in a smaller town and many of the activities are downtown or on the SW side so it's a trek for me. I am really hoping to start going to the monthly meetings, and the playdates will be more doable now as my boys are getting older and have more awake time. E.g. they have monthly playdates at the My Gym just 20 mins away from me that I'm really looking forward to as soon as the boys start crawling! I'm also planning to sign up for a few shifts at the sale.

  • Most of them have free trials, you should see if yours does.  I joined and hardly ever make it to meetings, but I met the moms in my playgroup through them and also have bought things off the club's buy/sell listings (like craigslist just for the group) so I think it's worth it.
