Which Britax car seat?

DD is 13 months, petite, and still in her infant carrier.  I want to get her a convertible car seat asap because we're driving to Destin, FL in a few weeks, and I think she'll be more comfortable in a bigger seat.  I'm debating between the Britax Marathon or the Roundabout.  Any suggestions?

Re: Which Britax car seat?

  • We have the Roundabout and love it.  We looked at all the Britax's and decided on the Roundabout based on the price.  It's not too big and DD seems really comfortable in it.

  • We have one of each and I like both. The Marathon is alot bigger than the Roundabout though. If you have room for it, get the Marathon (because it'll last longer.)

I got this one in May and it's great. Plus it was only a week old (according to the manufacturer date!) Same price as the Roundabout. And shipping was pretty fast.

  • Unless you get the Roundabout 50, I would get the Marathon. Regular Roundabout only goes up to 40 inches and lbs. My DS would have outgrown it at 2 1/2 and I would have had to get another. Marathon goes to 49 inches and 65 lbs. It lasts a lot longer.

    Ditto this exactly.

We have a Roundabout and 2 Marathons. DD only has about 2 inches left before she outgrows her Roundabout for rear-facing, and we want to keep her rear-facing longer than that. Ours was free though, so I can't complain. I purchased a Marathon from Target on clearance. It was $195 ish. However, I am debating returning it for the one the prior poster linked to or even for a Boulevard.
