I leave for work at 8:30 and DS gets up at about 6:30, but since I'm getting ready, it's hardly quality time during those 2 hours, though I try hard to talk to, nurse, etc.
Then, I get home at 5:15 and DH and DS get home at about 5:30 and DS goes to bed at about 7:15, so barely over 2 hours with him in the evening also! It makes me so sad that I hardly see him in a day. Anyone else go through this and feel the same way?
Re: Anyone else feel like they hardly see LO?
Same here, even worse.
I leave at 8, therefore I just have enough time to wake Max up and give him his breakfast. That makes 20 minutes.
I pick him up at 6:30 pm. Takes me 30 minutes walk to get home (no car). If the weather is good, and I'm not too dead after the day in the office I try to sing, chat him up, show him things and people while walking. That makes 30 more minutes quality time
If I'm too tired, I just walk under the Brittany rain.
Once at home (7pm) I have 2 hours before I put him to bed. During these 2 hours I should also find time:
1/ Cook his dinner - I try to make sure he eats healthy
2/ Feed him
3/ Cook our dinner and maybe eat??? Rarely
4/ Bathe him
I also need to play with him, read books etc. When he's in good mood - it's like in those movies - kid is sitting in his chair smiling, while you are shufflking porc chops with one hand, holding the poem book in the other, reading outloud.
Otherwise you lie down on the floor and turn the TV on. And, sometimes, cry.
So, I totally see what you mean....
