2nd Trimester

What are your mini-milestones???

Of course my main milestone is making it to term and having a healthy baby, but right now my milestone is to make it to 24 weeks and then again to 28 weeks because my doctor said major major development happens between those weeks and by 28 weeks your vitality is up to 95%!

I'm still looking forward to feeling baby move. Hopefully that will happen before my big u/s - otherwise that is my next milestone.

  • Today is our big u/s.. so that's definitely a milestone for us. Other than that, I guess 24 weeks, and then labor.

  • I have quite a few.  Feeling the baby move at 18 weeks was the last one.  Big ultrasound today is the next one.  24 weeks (V-day) will be the one after that.  Then the GD test at 28 weeks, and then the last big milestone before delivery will be 36 weeks - another ultrasound and making it to officially "full term."

I don't think I'd be able to make it through the wait if I didn't have it chunked up into smaller pieces . . .

  • Waiting for movement, then finding out the he/ she, then 24 weeks- and on!! (oh and somewhere in there, I would like a mini milestone of starting and then completing the nursery)
  • I'm still obsessed with the fact that I can feel my babies moving inside my belly.  A milestone I'm looking forward to is the kicks my DH will feel from the outside.

I'm also really ready for that 20 week ultrasound.  August 29th!

  • Each week is a mini milestone for me, but here are some big ones:

--At 12 weeks the cravings stopped

--Also at 12 weeks I had my NT scan, which showed the baby was healthy

--At 14 weeks I had my first "pop", you could see my belly in dresses

--16 weeks I had my first baby shower

--18 weeks I found out she was a girl

--19 weeks I started feeling her kick

--20 weeks I could feel her movement, not just kicks

--21 weeks the clerk in a baby clothes store noticed I was pregnant

--22 weeks she started kicking HARD and when you press on my belly you can feel that there is something under there, that it's a form rather than just a round bump

--22.5 weeks I could sort of "see" her in my belly.  For example, she would be on the left side, because my bump was huge on the left and flat on the right.

    Coming Up:

    --I'm excited for 24 weeks since that's V-Day!

--Eventually a stranger is going to say something about me being pregnant!

--The glucose test at 28 weeks

--And continuing my nesting until labor!

  • I've just had my Vday on Sunday - so now I am looking forward to completing the nursery, having my mom feel her grandbaby on the outside (she's always sleeping when I see my mom, and as soon as I leave dances a little jig), passing my glucose test, and reaching double digits.

They are all exciting little things, and it keeps getting better.

  • Crap I haven't even thought of having mini-milestones.
  • Besides carrying or LO to term, our mini-milestones are the big ultrasound (this Thursday), feeling more regular kicking from our LO, and making it to 24 weeks!
