Tilted uterus?

Anyone else told they have this? The radiologist at our u/s today said I have a long and skinny uterus that is tilted towards my back, hence why it looks like I'm barely showing. That made me feel a lot better knowing the reason why.

Re: Tilted uterus?

  • I have a tipped cervix...not sure if that affects the position of the uterus or not.  My cervix points towards my back a little bit.

  • I have a tilted uterus.  Mine is also tilted towards my back and prepregnancy was almost folded over on top of itself.  My tilted uterus made it hard for me to get pregnant and had to resort to infertility treatments.  From what I've read, it's pretty common for pregnancy to actually fix the tilt in the uterus.  As the baby grows, the uterus will figure out the position it's supposed to be in and hopefully will stay that way after you give birth.

Rest assured, it's nothing terrible and there are those of us out there who have it too!

I have one too. I can't remember where it's tilted towards, though. My dr said it would move into a proper place throughout pregnancy but shift back to its original position postpartum. I never did ask at my pp appt if it had moved back.

  • My uterus is tilted also.  My doctor also told me it would straighten itself out during pregnancy, and then go back to being tilted after.

I was just wondering if having a tilted uterus could make it harder to feel movement?  Has anyone heard anything about that?  I am 20w3d and still haven't felt more than flutters.

  • I have a tilted ute as well, and was told it self-corrects through pregnancy.

I have felt movement since week 16, so it did not affect that. But it's so hard to say-- "every body is different".

  • I've been feeling movement six 16 weeks too, but from the u/s that's because she's laying with her feet towards my stomach and moves all the time! I could see why maybe you haven't felt any movement yet.

  • I have a tilted uterus as well. My doctor told me last week at my appt that it tends to even out at about 14w and then it goes back after pregnancy. He also said it does not effect anything pregnancy related. The only thing it does is causes sex to be painful when your not pg...or when it's tilted.
