Me, neither! My friends and family are so scattered around the country that it just doesn't make sense for anyone to put one on, when most people wouldn't be able to come (probably me included).
I don't think so, we just got married last November and I feel bad about having another shower so close to my bridal shower. On top of that, I feel like I work and commute too much to be a really good friend to anyone. Sad.
Yeah my problem is DH is my best friend and I only have a couple female friends in the area and I don't work full time (I was laid off back in March). My mom said she was going to buy us a crib and bring it to the baby shower and I was like um I'm not having one. I had a small bridal shower back right before we eloped but out of the handful of people who went, I only occasionally talk to two of them. Plus my Dad disowned me a couple of times so nobody on his side knows about the baby. So on my side only my mom, her husband and my brother know (and maybe a couple of her relatives from Facebook), but nobody is really local. I fail at being a girlie girl.
I'm not... It's our first, but I honestly don't need a thing. So, we're not doing one. I have 3 large tubs from target through of clothes through her first year, a pack and play, a baby bath, 15-20 receiving blankets, my Mom owns a quilt store, I have a infant and a convertible car-seat, and a stroller... I'm good thanks. We live in such a small space that I don't think I would have places to put too much more stuff!
Plus, I don't have many girlfriends... my DH is my best friend too, and we're not at the same church we were... so I'd feel weird doing a baby shower at the new one. When people ask, I simply say we're asking for gift cards for diapers.
