Orange County Babies

Nanny Recommendation?

Hi there.  Anyone have a nanny agency they have used that they would recommend?  We are looking to have a nanny come to the house a few times a week.

Re: Nanny Recommendation?

  • Don't have personal exp but know parents who have had great success hiring through OC Nannies.

  • I have spoken to OC Nannies and like them. Their fee is really high though. I am also talking with nannycantor who does OC. I know other people have tried Craig's List.
  • I used OCNannies to find my nanny. It is expensive and it doesn't mean that you'll find a great nanny right away. We had to make 2 changes and we are pretty easy to please. The first nanny we were introduced never took care of actual babies and I hired someone to help out as soon as my LO was born. The second one left the country for a family emergency. The good thing about OCNannies is:

    1. Maria Furoto, who you can request, is a wonderful coordinator and will try her best to find you someone you like. She is very patient and sweet and will search high and low for you.

    2. The background check for us was very important.

    3. You can switch out your nanny as often as you need to over a 3 month time period. I highly recommend that you switch if it just doesn't "feel" like a good fit because finding a nanny is a long-term commitment and it needs to be a comfortable fit. This is a true value. You can call Maria in the morning and have a new nanny the same day.

    4. With the economy being weak, there are a lot of great nannies out of work so you'll luck out finding someone wonderful.
