Parenting after a Loss

Need help re: my LO rolling back to belly

DD hates being on her stomach but whenever I set her down she rolls to her belly then screams.  I have to flip her back myself what feels like 50x a day and it's exhausting.  Any tips on what I can do to teach her to roll to her back until she gets used to it?

Re: Need help re: my LO rolling back to belly

  • If you can figure it out, let me know!  We've had the same thing going on for two solid months now.  Although he STILL can't roll belly to back, my LO has gotten happier being on his belly, and likes that he can pull himself way up on his arms and see more that way.  But eventually he gets tired and cries for parental assistance.

He's sitting and scooting and doing lots of new things physically, but still can't roll to his back!  I'll do a real happy dance when he finally figures it out!

Ironically DD's first rolls were belly to back then she didn't roll for a week and now can't remember how she did it.  Sigh...

That's exactly what Henry did. He could roll from belly to back at 4 months, but its like he would forget, especially when he was tired. Finally, at 6 months, I decided to just let him lie there until he figured it out. I knew he was capable of doing it, he just needed to realize it. He hollered for about 3 or 4 minutes and then suddenly scrunched his knees up under his torso and flipped right over. It like the lightbulb went off, and he suddenly started rolling and moving all OVER the place.

I think sometimes we have to step back and let them figure stuff out on their own, even if they get frustrated.
