I'm super thankful for all the tips I've read on this board re: how to stay organized/build morning routines w/ LO. 'Cause if it weren't for the suggestions I followed through on, this morning would've been a complete & total disaster.
DH got laid off when I was 4 weeks post partum. I went back to work after 8 weeks mat leave & he's been watching DD full time ever since. But today was a HUGE day of transition for our family 'cause DH got a job and today is his first day back at work. Its also DD's first day fulltime at childcare (we hired a relative).
Well, wouldn't luck have it that last night's dinner made me deathly sick. It started w/ severe stomach cramps around 10 pm, just b4 bed. I was up all night w/ massive nausea, vomiting & that kinda thing. By this morning I was wiped out & still sick. So it took me 45 min to get DD dressed for the day (I had to keep stopping to run to the bathroom).
It was just hell. Its on me to do the dropoff's/pickup's for childcare 'cause DH has a really long commute & needs to head out really early. And I needed her to go to childcare today so I could catch up on the night's sleep I never got. Ugh.
I managed to hold it together long enough to get her to our relative's house for child care. But of all the days for something like that to happen. If I hadn't packed her stuff the nite before, laid out her clothes for the day, etc. etc. this morning would've been a complete disaster. At least the only thing I needed to do was get her dressed & in the car.
So see that? You guys were my saving grace this morning.
