I read that the frequency of urination starts to taper off in the 2nd semester. Well, I haven't gotten there yet, I guess. I normally pee more frequently that the average woman anyway even before I was pregnant (small bladder), but I've been trying to stay more hydrated during pregnancy so that it makes sense that I would pee a lot more. However, I try not to drink too much in the evenings so I don't have to get up as often. Lately, I've been getting up to use the bathroom only to come back to bed and feel my bladder filling up again (seriously, I feel it). So I get up within a few minutes to go to the bathroom again. And this usually happens 3-4 times before I'm even in deep sleep. And I usually empty, what seems like, a full bladder. In that past few days, I have just decided to sit on the toilet a little longer and see if more comes out. And to my surprise, it keeps trickling out. It's quite frustrating when I need to sleep. HAS ANYONE GONE THROUGH THIS??? :-)
Re: Frequent urination
I think mine slowed down for a few weeks but the past few nights I've had to get up again.
I have also had to sit just a little bit longer, especially in the morning to make sure I'm completely empty!
Yep, I heard that frequent urination slows down in 2nd tri, too. LIES! All LIES, I tell you! I still pee frequently. And now, like you, it's started coming out in just a trickle, no matter how urgent the need to go is. I actually went to the bathroom yesterday feeling like I was about to pee myself and literally a drop is all that came out. I was like, "Oh, come on!"
I can only assume the baby has set up camp on or against my bladder, which is causing me to feel like I have to go more often than I actually do (which is still pretty often). Thank you, Child 'O Mine for keeping things interesting in the bathroom.
