Question about sleepsack?

Would you recommend a cotton or a fleece sleepsack??? I've heard these are great for infants and toddlers I'm just not sure if a fleece one would get too hot?!? Hmm.. What do you think?!  Thank you!

Re: Question about sleepsack?

  • Totally unrelated but, I love the name you picked out.  We considered Rowan for a girls name.  I love Rowan James!  As for your post, I haven't a clue.

  • For DD I used a fleece one for the winter months and then a coton one when it got wrmer.  She was born in Sept and we swaddled her at first.  I started useing the fleece sleep sack around Nov/Dec and then we switched to a cotton one around April.  I would say it just depends on how cold it gets were you live and how drafty your house is.  Unfortunately for us the bedrooms in our house tend to get much colder than the rest of the house in the winter and they are the hardest to keep cool in the summer.

  • I believe fleece is made of polyester which does not absorb sweat very well.  I always try to use cotton for all baby related things.  We were able to find sleep sacks for DD in natural fibers that would absorb sweat.  And sweat can be a major cause of rashes on little babies.

I was thinking of doing this.

  • I use fleece in the cold months and cotton in the summer months.

  • Thank you all so much for your help!!!!
  • We tried the fleece for DS in the winter months (he was born in Dec), but he was such a hot natured baby he would sweat like crazy in it so we went to the cotton and used those nightly.?
