High-Risk Pregnancy

Intro & some questions!

Good morning ladies!!!

I have been being monitored for pre-e for the past 3 weeks, was put on bed rest the end of last week.  I have been having severe headaches with seeing black spots, bp has been running 160/100, and some protien in urine samples, but my blood work is great.  The baby is measuring 5lbs14ozs (36 week u/s) but they are now unsure if its a boy or girl (long story, we had a bad u/s technician at 20 weeks who told us what she wanted to tell us!) My doctors want us to make it to 38 weeks. I am going in for biweekly NSTs.  Bedrest sucks but at least I am so close to the end...every female in my family has had pre-e and been on bedrest from 31 weeks onto delivery!

My question for you guys is, what is your bp been running? If I lay down ALL DAY, its about 135/80.

Hopefully everyone is doing well this morning!!!

Re: Intro & some questions!

  • Sorry to hear that you were put on bedrest but it sounds like your Dr's are on top of everything especially with your family history. And you are getting so close now to 38 weeks so that's fantastic. Good luck!

When I am on my left side my numbers seem to be around 130-135/80. When I am sitting up or on my right side my numbers are 135-140/85-90. The two weeks before I was put on bedrest I was consistently over 140/90  so bedrest is definitely helping. Are you on meds? I am not on any meds but I am on a very strict low-sodium diet, which helped keep my numbers pretty consistent through the second trimester.

  • My BP has gotten up to 167/110 at the Dr's office. They have me on medication but my bp averages about 145/90 on bed rest even on medication.

  • Mine runs 130's/90's and that's on 1200mg/day of Labetalol.  I was just put on bedrest Friday and am also going in twice a week for NSTs.  I don't see a real difference between sitting/laying down.  I'm hoping they can keep this baby in as long as possible!  I was worried this morning though, I got a migraine with super high bp, but everything seems back to "normal".
