Nursing pads?

Can you suggest your nursing pads?  I have Gerber ones, and I still have some leakage even with them.  I don't know if I'm just leaking a ton, or if I need better ones.  Which ones do you use?

Thanks, Jenn

  • I love the lansinoh ones.

  • I actually don't love the Laninsoh ones.  I like the Laninsoh Ultra Soft more than the Laninsoh Ultra Thin because they are easier to get smoothed out, but I feel like even the Ultra Soft ones sometimes look a little lumpy through my bra and shirt.  I just got some Johnson's ones, and so far, they seem comfortable and smooth.  I haven't yet had any leakage issues with them, but I'm just now using them for the second time so I'll have a better idea on that point later today.

  • I have the Gerber ones and I like them.  They won't do you any good once they're soaked, but that goes for any nursing pad.  I had an oversupply when DS came home from the NICU so I was using burp clothes/cloth diapers in my bra for a while because I was leaking like crazy.  I don't leak nearly as much now and just change the nursing pads when they're wet.
  • If I am really concerned such as when we go out on date night and I actually wear something besides a nursing tank...then I put on LilyPadz. They stick on so that there is no leakage...they are bit spendy for everyday.

I have found that now that DS is nursing on more of a routine (his natural routine, not one I put him on) I do not leak unless I skip a feeding so DH can take a turn. I try to pump before I go out if I know I will miss a feed and then stick on the LilyPadz.

  • I found that disposable nursing pads are really rough on my nips. i got 6 pairs of these "milk maids" and love them, so soft and absorbant!:

  • I use the cloth reusable ones from motherhood maternity. I like the feeling of them sooo much better then the disposable ones.
  • I use washable nursing pads from BabyOReally on Etsy.  I cannot say enough nice things about this seller, and I would very highly recommend her product.  She offers a lot of options, such as extra layers of fabric or PUL to make them waterproof, and the soft flannel she uses feels soooo nice against abused nips.  Also, these pads lay nice and flat---you can't see them through your clothing.
