Parenting after a Loss

mom's of boys.. .when did your LO start playing with his peep?

I posted this on 6-12 also....

My ds has spent the whole morning grabbing at his diaper, and when I was bathing him, his hand was attached to his little peep.  Is this normal for his age?  He is circumcised, so I am hoping he doesn't have adhesion issues... Dh fears that he is "hurting his manhood", lol!

thanks.

Re: mom's of boys.. .when did your LO start playing with his peep?

  • Mine started doing that at that age and it is perfectly normal.  Still to this day everytime he gets in the bath he seems to play with it a little.  I know that sounds bad but he is a normal healthy kid! Big Smile

  • Also, I think they are just learning about there bodies, very curious!
  • He discovered it really early (like 4 months) and goes through phases where he's always grabbing at it when I'm changing him or he's bathing. ?Then he'll forget it exists for awhile.

    I think it's very normal.?

  • Ditto pp.  He grabs it really hard!  lol at calling it a peep!
  • I'm so not ready for this.........lol

  • ditto mlf.

The part I hate is when he's in a phase and poopy. Nothing like reaching down and smearing his hand in poo.

  • My DS discovered his penis around that age as well.  He hasn't stopped playing with it since.  Their fascination with their manhood starts very early.  lol!

  • J5 doesn't seem to have "found himself" yet, but he's the only one of his friends who hasn't.
  • Umm, Leo has been obsessed with his weenie since the tender age of 4 months. The diaper isn't off for 10 seconds before he's grabbing that thing. Guess he takes after his father, LOL.

This. I think Y does it for stress relief, too!  He stopped crying last week when he found it during a diaper change.  I didn't know what to do; let him continue or continue changing him.  Bizarre.
  • My DS has gone through phases where he grabs himself every once in awhile, but he's never done it a lot.  He's done it on and off since about 4 or 5 months.  I think its very normal, nothing to worry about.

  • Funny you ask...K never seemed to notice his much before, but I got that blinky buzzy musical toy as a special changing table toy on someone here's recommendation, and today during a diaper change he dropped it down and seemed to discover the vibration on his peep was a very good thing. ?;-) ?I sense things to come.
