My husband and I are going to start looking at nursery furniture for our twins that are on the way, but I have a question to ask. I like the way most bedding looks against a white crib the most, but do not necessarily want to buy a white dresser/changing table. I am thinking I would want a darker wood. I would like to be able to continue to use the dresser once the babies are out of their cribs and usually lean towards dark wood for beds. So, is it common or is it okay to have 2 white cribs with pastel/light "baby" colored bedding, but have a dark wood dresser/changing table??? Thanks for any input, this advice should help us get started tomorrow on our nesting adventure!!
Re: First time nursery buying... need your opinion please!
I wouldn't do it personally, I like some uniformity - at least when it comes to matching the furniture. I would save the "mixing" for fabrics, wall art and other decor.
I know what you're saying about liking the white crib though - I like them too, especially the antique white, but we decided to go with a darker espresso colored set so it would last longer.
I wouldn't base your furniture color choice on the bedding so much, because you'll probably change the bedding before you change the furniture. This is especiallly true if you're getting "lifetime" furniture that grows with the baby.
And it's actually pretty common to have non-matching furniture as far as color goes. Some people don't like the matching look
agreed.
