Parenting after a Loss

Do you think 15 months is too young for Disney World?

DH & I have a wedding to go to in April of next year in Disney.  We planned on making a vacation of it and to be honest, I don't think I want to be away from DS that long. Do you think he is too young to be in Disney at that age??  Any input would be appreciated...

  • He's not to young, but he is if you plan on going on rides & such and won't have anyone to hang out with him.

He also won't remember it. So if you're just going for the sake of going, it's fine IMO.

  • I went in 2002 and remember seeing babies EVERYWHERE!  Or small toddler, you KWIM.  I think it's a lot of activity and a lot of walking, so if you do I would really plan out what you want to see and only spend x amount of hours there per day you want to go.  It's exhausting being a grown up going, so just take it easy and make it relaxing so your LO doesn't get overstimulated.  I think it should be fun!  We want to go but aren't planning on it for a few years... we usually just visit family OOT for now!

Nope!  I was there even younger when I was a baby!  Not that your LO will remember it though.  It just may be more fun for you to see how much fun your lo has.

  • I took Carter to Disney World when he was exactly 6 months old (and Natalia was 8), and it was wonderful.  I've had equally fun trips with Natalia at 23 months, Natalia at 4yrs old, and Natalia at 10yrs old with Carter at 19 months (that was my favorite, because dh could finally come too, we still talk about how fun it was).  Any age is perfect for Disney World, there are plenty of activities to make a wonderful trip for any age.

I highly recommend staying onsite and getting park hopper passes to make your time there as flexible as possible.  Oh, and if you take advantage of the fastpass and parent swap lines for the rides there's no reason you can't enjoy the grown up rides, too!

  • Well Bailey's going at 15wks and then again at 6months so no I don't think it's to young. Of course it's more for dh and I then him at this point but we're also going both times with my family so we'll have help. I've seen little infants all the way up at Disney. It's what you make of it.

We are going right around that same time - Jenna will be 16 months.  We have a wedding in FL and my parents would love to come and take her to Disney so we are going to the wedding and then to Disney for a couple days.  We like it too, if not I would not be going just for her and I wouldn't  have planned a trip but the wedding being right there it seemed like a fun couple days.

We went with my sister when my neice was 2 and she was scared of a lot of stuff but had fun on some stuff and overall it was fun.
