Was anyone else breech at 32 weeks?

Hi again! :)  I found out at my last appointment that our little one is breech.  He or she is apparently in the "transverse" (sp?) position so it is lying across as opposed to up and down.  The Dr. seemed hopeful that the little one will shift into the head down position by the time delivery rolls around...just wondering if anyone had a similar experience?

Re: Was anyone else breech at 32 weeks?

  • I was breech at 32 weeks and she turned at 34 weeks on her own. You still have time...my Dr told me I didn't have to worry about c-section till 36 weeks. I ended up having one in the end, not because she was breech but because I stopped dilating at 4cm

  • Ben was head down and Kate wasn't.  They were in those same positions for months and months up until I had my c-section.
  • Yes, Emma turned around 34 weeks.
  • Yep, Reid was transverse at 32 weeks. Turned all the way breech at 36 weeks - frank breech with his feet in his face, and he stayed that way till he was delivered via c/s at 39w 3d. You've still got time to turn though. Don't fret about it yet. I wish I hadn't spent so much time worrying about it. I almost made myself sick worrying. In the end, he was delivered happily and safely, and I recovered quick and easy from the c-section.
  • Olivia was breach since her 20 week u/s.  She never turned around and I ended up having a c-section.  But everyone else's baby's I know that were breach turned around.  I was also on bedrest for 10 weeks so maybe the little movement made her not want to move.

    Good luck!

  • EC was breech at 32 weeks and stayed that way until she was delivered at 39w1d by c/s.

Transverse babies are better for versions, so you may have success with that if the baby doesn't decide to turn on it's own.

I won't say you still have time because I hated hearing that - I will say that a c/s isn't all that bad, my recovery was better then I had envisioned in my head.

  • My DS was frank breech from 27-35 weeks.  During week 35 he flipped and stayed head down for a vaginal delivery.  You still have time.  My OB had begun talking to me about an external version or c-section.  Look into these, and also check out spinning babies.com.  They have some things you can do to help you baby flip.  Good luck!

  • My dd was full breech at 32 weeks. Then she turned head down at 34 weeks. Then she turned transverse breech at 35 weeks and stayed that way til my c-section at 39weeks.

Good luck! I tried everything to get her to turn... cold packs on my stomach, lying upside down at an angle, even shining a bright light at my crotch (don't ask).... LOL

  • yup. breech till 36.
