Do you buy clothes "in advance"?

Childrens Place is having a great sale online. I wanted to buy DS clothes for next summer, but worried the shorts might be too big/small when the time comes. The shorts are adjustable. Shirts aren't a big deal b/c they can be worn whenever. I would need to buy 18-24m. He seems to follow the age/size range for his Carter's clothes.

This is my first baby so I don't want to buy stuff that won't fit even if it is a deal! I guess it's a crapshoot!

I wouldn't reccommend buying a year ahead. LO's grow at different rates & you'll probably end up wasting $ on clothes that won't be worn.

Thats what I was kinda thinking. The polo/t-shirts aren't a big deal. I was more concerned with the shorts. Maybe I'll just get the shirts! CP has good quality stuff and they are cheap with an extra 15% off!

I bought some clothes in advance and there is no way DD is going to fit it.  I swore up and down that she was going to be a big, big baby but she's leaning towards being more petite like her great-grandmas so she'll have a nice winter coat for next summer

I do for the next size up but no further than that.  I don't want to waste money on something she might not be able to wear.  The only reason I even buy the next size up is because DD has always been able to wear the size that's appropriate for her age.  She even wore her 3-6 month stuff until 8 months.

I do but only if the sale is REALLY good.  My DS seems to outgrow shirts right at the age it goes to (outgrows his 9 mo right at 9 mo) but pants are long on him so he stays in those longer (still in 9 mo at 11 mo).  I went crazy with a GAP gift card and bought a ton of long sleeve 18 mo clothes thinking that DS would be in them over the winter which he should.  Problem is, he will outgrow his 12 mo before the summer is over so we need to have both long sleeve and short sleeve for 18 mo.  SOOO annoying that he changes sizes mid-season.
